Mayor Malik Evans Receives Endorsement From Assemblyman Harry Bronson

Rochester, N.Y. Thursday morning, incumbent Rochester Mayor Malik Evans welcomed the endorsement of long-time partner in government, Assemblymember Harry Bronson, ahead of the Democratic Primary election on June 24.

In the last four years, Mayor Evans and Assemblymember Bronson have worked hand-in-hand to deliver real results for Rochester. Together they have supported small business development, secured critical funding from New York State, and tackled challenges throughout the city ranging from equity, infrastructure, and the environment. Their collaboration highlights a strong dedication to the City of Rochester and Mayor Evans’s steadfast commitment to delivering for all residents.

“The Dean of our Albany Delegation has been instrumental on delivering on my key priorities of making Rochester a safer, equitable and more prosperous community. We have built one of the strongest partnerships with our state delegation in recent memory thanks to our commitment to working together. I am grateful for Assemblymember Bronson’s endorsement and look forward to our continued partnership” Evans said.

Mayor Evans and Assemblymember Bronson’s strong partnership has brought historic investment from Albany, including over $25 million in funding to combat poverty and delivering a $59.6 million investment in the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center. As well as investments to the City of Rochester through the Gun Involved Violence Elimination Program (GIVE) to combat gun violence and a $100 million investment to fill in the northern section of the inner loop which will reconnect neighborhoods and increased dollars to address mental health.

His love for this city and desire to see every resident thrive is evident in the many creative ways Mayor Evans has fostered collaboration with the broader community, launching programs such as the Office of Financial Empowerment, Buy the Block and the Office of Violence Prevention.
