Rochester, N.Y. – Monroe County Executive Adam J. Bello has announced his enthusiastic support and endorsement of Mayor Malik D. Evans and the Team for Rochester, which includes City Council candidates Niner Davis, Josie McClary, LaShunda Leslie-Smith, as well as incumbents Mitch Gruber and Miguel Melendez.
“Mayor Malik Evans and I have built an historic partnership built on collaboration, shared purpose and a commitment to improving the lives of the people we serve. We have secured significant investments from the federal and State governments for game-changing projects like Roc the Riverway, anti-poverty initiatives, and affordable housing — and we’re just getting started,” said County Executive Adam Bello. “With a City Council ready to work alongside the Mayor and keep the momentum going, there’s no limit to what we can achieve. I’m proud to endorse Malik D. Evans for Mayor and his City Council team – because their leadership is exactly what Rochester needs to turn bold ideas into real results.”
Bello and Evans have built the most collaborative relationship between the County and City in decades. The leaders have worked together on community priorities including public safety and the creation of the Juvenile Enhanced Diversion Stabilization (JEDS) program, the opioid epidemic, affordable housing projects, large capital improvement projects and collaborating on our region being named a tech hub.
“I welcome the support of County Executive Bello for myself and the Team for Rochester,” Mayor Evans said. “I look forward to continuing the momentum we’ve been able to create due to the powerful partnership between the City and County, alongside strong and focused City Council members.”
Early voting began June 14 and continues through June 22, and the Democratic Primary Election will be held on June 24.
